Well renowned and beloved painter and graphic designer, Ro Heilbron was born in 1938 in Paramaribo, Suriname.
Now in his mid-sixties, he looks back on a life of creativity and dedication.
Creativity as his basis to produce works of fine arts, means in his case constantly fighting and conquering forms, compositions, colors and movements.
Dedication is what he shows to great numbers of victims of poverty, either as a result of colonial exploitation or, in particular during the last three decennia of wars, discrimination, racism and inhumane neglect, which result in a fierce divide between the poor and the rich throughout the world.
Ro Heilbron, as a man and as an artist, always shows his pure and warm compassion with the fates of his mates, where so ever they may be. Thus he succeeds to explore, even in the depths of misery, the unexpected beauty of consolidation, indeed of life itself.
